I tried playing FFXIII and obviously I have problems. Tried fixing them using the GeDoSaTo solution and it worked. I closed my PC that day and got back again today. Tried starting the usual way but I get a 'Steam_api.dll' Error or 'FFXIII stopped working. I followed a guide so the settings should be okay. This: My game obviously doesn't contain a virus since it still starts without using Gedosato. If there's another fix I am open to suggestions.
Sorry if this was the wrong place to post, but I am not sure where else. Thanks in advance • • • • •. It just doesn't run very well. I have a i7-5820k and a 980ti and with a very specific nvidia control panel setup and setting the launch graphical options pretty low I can get 60 fps in most areas but it drops quite frequently, especially in battles. Some people say the game is locked at 30, most are convinced the battles are locked for 30 but I have had a few battles that stay at 60 for the duration. XIII runs pretty damn good and I can run it at 60 with max shadows+AA and 4k resolution with such a small frame drops its hard to notice. Is the nvidia control panel settings I use.

If I deviate from this setup at all the game runs even worse. I spent hours fiddling with this.
I've also heard AMD cards have a harder time running the game compared to nvidia cards. I can't really confirm this as the only AMD card I ran this game with wasn't very strong(R9 270X). It runs like garbage on the PS3, I have played both versions and people seem to forget how much it chugged on the PS3. The only major difference between the two versions is that the PC gets all of the DLC while you will still need to pay an extra 20 bucks for everything on the PS3.
BUT on the PS3 if you choose to buy the DLC you will have access to it near the beginning of the game, the PC version has it locked away till the very end. I would also like to add that XIII-2 is one of my favorite FF games.
